Can people access my router through an external IP?

So, I setup my router to be portfowarded and created a domain name pointing to the server (minecraft), but when I visit it, it shows my routers homepage (it's a wireless one with no password). I thought you could only access it internally? This seems a little dangerous as anyone could connect and **** with my settings. I'm probably just extremely retarded, but I wanna be safe.
