How is Florida Atlantic University? And what does this mean?

I want to go to FAU for physical therapy, and this college is like my dream college. my Nanny used to have a house in Boca Raton, and she is who made me want to be a physical therapist. How good of a college is it? also what is the non- resodent and residaent difference? Thanks
